Thunderbird mail folder capacity

Postby Robb_ » Tue 13 Feb, 2007 8:47 pm

Does anyone know the capacity of an email folder within Thunderbird.
We have numerous people at work who keep email folders reaching 2gb.
Our MIS personnel are currently using Microsoft Office 2000 and 2003 and when folders reach the 2 gb figure the mail folders become unstable.

Most people have been having problem with Netscape at or near 1 Gb. I recommend that people create archive folders when exceeding 500Mb. It is, also so much easier to find mail with smaller folder. Another cause of glut is in the fact that a lot of people are not aware that mail sent to Trash is associated with the Inbox, until the folders are compacted.
