If Thunderbird has been, properly, installed, it should show up in the Add/Remove, right below Mozilla Firefox, as Mozilla Thunderbird. Can you find the installed folder in this path:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird ?
In my experience, the program may not show up if the Portable version is installed on the hard drive, or you work out of an unzipped file, rather than an installer file.
I don't believe that the profile matters, but if all is working fine, I would leave it alone, or install the program on top of the existing one.

Paul, may be I did not understand the original question, but our friend said:
I noticed FireFox is showing in (Control Panel add & remove programs set programs access & defaults )and Thunderbird is not showing at all.

There are some programs which are not in the Control Panel|Add/Remove, and I had to go to the Program File folder, and find an Uninstall folder to get rid of it. I think that he means that Thunderbird is not listed, even, in the Add/Remove.[/quote]

Here is how I parsed / punctuated the statement part of the post:
- - - - -
I noticed FireFox is showing in
(Control Panel --> add & remove programs --> set programs access & defaults )
and Thunderbird is not showing at all.
- - - - -
I understand the anomaly to be that FF does show in SPAD, and TB does not appear.

Question for gdrapeau:
At which of the SPAD sections are you looking? You'll need to put a check mark in the "Custom" section, and then use the pull-down arrows at the right end of that bar.
Does Thuderbird not show up here at all?
