Apple has doubled the capacity of Time Capsule to 2TB for more storage space or back up space with Apple's built-in Time Machine.

The new Time Capsule with 2TB capacity is priced at US$499 (or AU$729), and the 1TB model has lowered to US$299 (or AU$429).

The Time Capsule was first announced in January 2008, and in March 2009, Time Machine (together with AirPort Extreme Base Station) gets simultaneous dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz bands) and guest networking.

The Part Numbers are: Time Capsule 1TB: [tt]MB765LL/A[/tt]; Time Capsule 2TB: [tt]MB996LL/A[/tt].
