Total Codec Pack (no relation to the old DivX Total Codec Pack) is a project I've been working on to allow for the playback and encoding of various formats from DirectShow-compatible media apps. It also provides a range of codecs for native x64 players, whenever they begin to exist.
The list of supported video codecs: H.264, MPEG-4 (and a number of variants, i.e. Xvid, DivX, etc.), Microsoft MPEG4v1/2/3/DivX3, H.263, Flash Video 1, Ogg Theora, On2 VP3/5/6/6F, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.261, Huffyuv, Motion JPEG (and variants), Sorenson Video 1 and 3, QuickTime Planar RGB, QuickTime Animation, QuickTime Video, FFV1, DV (and variants), CamStudio, CorePNG, LOCO Video, LCL Lossless, ZLIB Lossless, Zip Motion Blocks, Autodesc RLE, ASUS Video 1/2, ATI Video, Cinepak, Chinese AVS, Creative YUV, Indeo 2/3, Fraps, Miro VideoXL, Microsoft Video 1, Microsoft RLE, QPEG, Real Video 1/2, Truemotion 1/2, IBM Ultimotion, Winnov WNV1, and the Snow wavelet codec.
The list of supported audio codecs: MP1/2/3, Dolby AC-3, DTS, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR), Linear PCM, various ADPCMs, aLaw, µLaw, GSM, FLAC, True Audio, DSP Group TrueSpeech, QuickTime Music, Macintosh Audo Compression 3/6, Real Audio 1/2, IMC, and Sony ATRAC3.
The list of supported containers: Flash Video (.flv), newer QuickTime and MPEG-4 (.mov/.mp4), Ogg (.ogg), Matroska (.mka/.mkv), and Real (.rm/.ram/etc.). Already supported by Windows are formats such as AVI, ASF 1/2, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 TS/PS, and older QuickTime files.
The Total Codec Pack also provides a DVD decoder via libdvdcss (32-bit codec only). Currently Video for Windows isn't supported, as my hacked-together install.cmd doesn't support driver installation.
You can download Total Codec Pack for Windows 2000 or higher (any CPU) from here. Extract all files from the archive and double-click either [tt]install[/tt] or [tt]install.cmd[/tt] to begin the installation. It's designed to clean up after itself, so you can safely delete any remaining extracted files after the installation is finished.
Any and all feedback is welcome. Keep in mind that minimal testing has been done on this. There's no uninstaller included, but you can download one here in the event that you want/need to uninstall the codec pack.
