The folowing error message just appeared on my PC, with that little "pop" sound . . .



I have 2 on-board USB 1.1 ports, and a USB 2.0 card (with 4 USB ports) plugged into
a PCI slot, but there are no devices connected to any of the aforementioned ports.

Any idea what caused this mysterious error to "pop up" . . . ?

Have you checked your power cords?

My thinking is that your PC and this USB hub are pushing the AC unit to it's limit.

Even if you don't have anything plugged in, chances are if you have more than one USB port on your system then there may be something wrong with the root hub (the one inside the system that would give you more than one port). As for why it popped up, there might be something there that's causing it to malfunction, probably something conductive. If so, you might be able to clean it out with Duster or another canned air product.
