Upgrading Mozilla on Linux

Postby Edward » Mon 19 Jan, 2004 9:32 am

When upgrading Mozilla on Linux, the installer will detect the previous installation and prompt to delete some directories.

This procedure also deleted a directory where the plugins were installed (Real Player, Adobe PDF, etc.) In order to restore these, they were copied from the Netscape 7.1 plugin directory into the corresponding Mozilla directory afterwards. To me, the use of symbolic links were suggested, pointing to the plugins. In the event a plugin is updated, the symbolic link would point to the updated plugin.
