Greetings ....

On Firefox 4, The "Clear Recent Data" feature is -VERY VERY- Sluggish and often non-responsive. This causes Firefox-4 to lock up, and it becomes necessary to use Windows Task Manager to shut FireFox off.

Anyone else having this issue?

Related to Personal Data - What was the reasoning behind the re-design of the Cache Folder System for Firefox 4? It used to be that CACHED ITEMS were usually found in one folder. Firefox-4 has MULTIPLE Cache folders 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-A-B-C-D-E-F, and many these have sub-folders. That's a lot of searching to do when trying to extricate certain things!

So, are we to rely more on PAGE INFO, FLASHGOT and other things for certain types of file retrievals?

A DISCOVERY! (for me anyway) ...

By un-checking CACHE from the list of "Clear Recent Data" items, the feature works normally, and there is -NO- slowdown or lockup.

I've now created a direct shortcut to the Firefox-4 Cache Folders. Until there's a fix in future versions, the procedure for me will be this -- after doing a "Clear Recent Data" on Firefox, I'll exit the browser and delete the Cache folders 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-A-B-C-D-E-F, which should not be fatal since Firefox re-creates them every time you run it.

About Firefox-4 Updates - I'm a little surprised we haven't yet seen a release of a 4.01 or maybe 4.10. Aren't there any other issues with the current version?

Interestingly, I saw a post by Antony, who reported some security updates of Mozilla products. I replied to it, including some more, 4.0.1 being one of them, but I can't find the thread. What's going on?
The have been updates to Thunderbird 3.x, Firefox 3.6.x, Firefox 4.x, and Seamonkey 2.0.x
