Adblock Plus does not let me in browser

Adblock Plus does not let me in browser

I have had a bad experience with addons like Adblock, so I refrained from installing them in all the years of their existence. But, I decided to install Adblock Plus in Firefox 4.01 portable, thinking that it would not matter if I did not like.
And, I am asking a question to whoever had it, because I was under the impression that the installation had to be followed by restart of the browser, as it is done. Sure enough, it closed Firefox, but then I got an error message, telling me that (unnamed)application could not be started because I did not have enough permissions. I did not see anywhere that it needed to restart the system, but, sure enough, I needed to do that to be permitted to open the browser, and use it. Does Adblock Plus do this? Maybe it says somewhere, but it was not a good start. It seems to work ok now, but I was ready to delete the files, if I could not remove it from the browser.

Let me get it right, you got error messages after relaunch the browser?

Perhaps, you can try to re-install Adblock Plus again.

The error message occurred after I selected to restart the browser. Since, I could not open the browser, I could not uninstall the extention, although I considered deleting it from the Profile. But, for some reason, I decided to restart the System, and all was well after that.
