Google has Chromebooks getting out, and Ben Francis used Chromeless technology from Mozilla Labs and created Webian Shell interface, a browserr-based desktop interface. As of now, the prototype application is available for testing for Mac, Windows and Linux.

To find out that Webian Shell is, this YouTube introduction video is your first step.

Essentially, it's a Mozilla based alternative to the Chroium/WebKit based ChromeOS.

It does have potential ... but I see it as better suited for tablet/slate computers, or public internet kiosks
rather than regular desktop/laptop systems running atop your main Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux OS.

Another potential use would be as a "splashtop" type OS ... an optional fast boot OS that runs directly
from a chip on your PC mainboard before you load your main operating system from the hard drive.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!
