Can anyone using FF 5 get McAffee Site Adviser to work on the new platform? I get a message that it will not work on FF 5.

To be perfectly honest, lack of support of Firefox 4.0.x is not a big deal. The differences between Firefox 5 and 4 are minimal. IMO, Mozilla could've gotten away with versioning Firefox 5 as 4.1 or even 4.5. The only reason they are moving to this rapid release cycle is to catch up with Chrome, IE, and Opera, all of whom are working on versions in the double digits. When Google releases a new version of Chrome, you don't typically see people complaining the old version is unavailable. Now that Firefox is moving to a Chrome-like release schedule, I don't see why they should do things any different. If you do want the old version, do some exploring of Mozilla's FTP site.

Because the average user isn't going to purposely look for an old version - that's largely an activity related to power users and browser compatibility testers, who generally know how to find those old versions for use. In fact, for these users, it's often easier or more convenient to browse from an FTP repository than a full-fledged Web page.

After fooling around with FF 4, I have decided to stay with version 5. The add-ons that do not work will work eventually (at least that is usually the case) and I figure I might as well stay with the supported version. I, for one, do not have a problem with Mozilla's continuing updating of FF. I guess the bottom line is I would rather have continuous updates than be stuck with a browser that has long gaps between fixes like IE.

The link is no longer working in this seemingly hidden location which was never properly publicised.
It really seems that Mozilla is killing Firefox 4 completely.
