I am using the more recent Seamonkey 2.3, so I don't know where you see what you describe, or what is the degree of nastiness. The Personal Toolbar is a rather old thing. Nothing new nor nasty. As for the subscribe, I am not sure where you see that. There is a very useful Blogs and Feeds in Mail, where I can subscribe to Blogs and Podcasts. But, if you see something sinister in the bookmarks, you should be able to highlight the item, and press Delete. Or don't look at it.

Hello Fulvio,

Fulvio wrote:I am using the more recent Seamonkey 2.3, so I don't know where you see what you describe, or what is the degree of nastiness. The Personal Toolbar is a rather old thing. Nothing new nor nasty. As for the subscribe, I am not sure where you see that.

This is where you will find the items mentioned by the OP:

And:

There is a very useful Blogs and Feeds in Mail, where I can subscribe to Blogs and Podcasts.

That has nothing to do with to what the OP is referring!

But, if you see something sinister in the bookmarks, you should be able to highlight the item, and press Delete. Or don't look at it.

What the OP dislikes aren't in the bookmarks, they are items in the bookmarks "drop-down menus", as shown in the above screen captures, and are part of the UI. They are what he wishes to remove. Unfortunately, that is something I can't answer.

Regards,

Dave.

Yeah it's all this crap on the drop down bookmarks menu, plus
the Open in all Tabs crap that appears in EVERY bookmark
folder I click. What's with all these UNprovements and how do
I get rid of them?? I tried going back to an earlier SM
release, but they are no longer acceptable to my financial
web site. So I am stuck with SM 2.1.

Here's the bottom line: you can't delete it.... period. Fulvio actually gave you the only real solution. "Don't look at it." I'm not sure what the real issue is. The options are there on your drop down menu if you ever choose to use them. Otherwise...IGNORE them. Beyond that, what is the problem?

cciaffone,

To get rid of "Open in all Tabs" at the end of bookmark folders, try this:

Include the following in the userChrome.css:

.openintabs-menuseparator,
.openintabs-menuitem {
display: none !important;
}
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:6.0) Gecko/20110813 Firefox/6.0 SeaMonkey/2.3
