What is the extension for FF that enables other extensions to work when they are too old and have not been updated?

Honestly, I am not sure, but the Add-on Compatibility Reporter had worked for me, in the past, but this site says otherwise. Take a look at it.

I got it to work, Fulvio. Thanks anyway. Another member from elsewhere gave me the following tip and it worked beautifully. You can read about it here:

I have never heard of Bon Echo, nor had it. So far, I used the above-mentioned add-ons, but had no need to install anything new.
