Bare Bones Software released TextWrangler 3.0, an update with a number of new features and enhancements.

Although it is not built to replace word processors, TextWrangler is a general purpose text editor, in fact, it is a very powerful text editor for everybody people and professional programmers. Most word processors, although able to format nicely, but usually surprisingly weak at text manipulation. TextWrangler, from the company that made Yojimbo and BBEdit, is your best friend for text manipulation.

TextWrangler 3.0 also has a few minor changes to certain behaviours. For complete details on TextWrangler 3.0 please see Release Notes. TextWrangler is completely free. No ads, no string attached.

TextWrangler 3.0 has refined its powerful Find window (Search and Replace), it is now easier to use, and still very powerful.

If you are a Unix user, you should be familiar with Regular Expression (also as Grep in TextWrangler). The Regular Expression searching or replacing is built into TextWrangler. If you are not familiar with Regular Expression, we recommend you check out the quick Tutorial (under Help menu), and you will find that Regular Expression is actually quite easy to use, and it's a very powerful and handy function.

TextWrangler 3.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, and it is free without any activation/serial number.
