iTunes downloads are partly silent

Postby Fulvio » Thu 26 Apr, 2012 7:22 pm

I, just, downloaded an album, which has music only, and video alternate, as well. Since I have, only a CD burner, I created a playlist, with the audio songs only. I burned it, and it had the correct time, for the five songs. When, I played the CD, it played the first song correctly, the second became silent after a couple of seconds ( it skipped on song #3 in iTunes). Songs 3 and 5 were ok, but song #4 skipped (or became silent) after about 45 sec.
I did not leave my concern on the Apple website, because there was, only, phone contact only. My phone goes on voice mail, and, typically, no one leaves call back messages, not if you are not given the option to wait for someone. Apple's only option is to tell when they could call. This is arrogant, at best.

Were you able to play the music correctly from iTunes? (without using the CD burned by iTunes)

With Apple's feedback page, http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html or apple.com/feedback, I did have some emails back and forth on the issue I had.

Antony,
on rereading, I realize that I did not say that I went to my iTunes Library, and got the same failure.
I went to my iTunes folder, track down the songs, and found out that each one was in m4p and m4a format. The m4a format was video, also. I tied to play the bad songs in each format, and iTunes playing the video was nothing but skips and stops. I tried to play the m4a format in Winamp, since it is not protected, and I got the audio, stopping exactly in the same place as the m4p format. I senyt an iTunes Feedback, reporting bad downloads, making it clear that the issue is not with the CD burning. But I could not tell, and according to iTunes the downloads were complete, but lousy.

Delete the song/video in question from your iTunes library. Then in iTunes Store (main page), click on Purchased, and you can re-download the song/video. You won't be re-charged for the same music or video.

Antony,
I would thinking of deleting the defective tracks, but was not sure how to proceed.
I will let you know how it worked.

I am not sure if everything is complete, but, on listening in the Library, all is well. Thanks, Antony.

To delete the problematic tracks, make sure you are on Music under Library (left pane), select the tracks, then hit the delete key. Or use Edit | Delete (from menu).

Antony,
I had added a sentence in my previous post, saying that all is well. I guess I did not make it clear, that all is well after following your directions.
As for iTunes support, it is Wednesday, and I have not heard a word from them. I don't, really, iTunes.

Today, May 8, still no reply from iTunes. I tried to post, describing my interest in the album, and mentioning my problems, but, for some reason, my post did not make it. I don't know if ITunes does not like negative comments or what, but I am disgusted with iTunes.
