Not sure how much help I'll get here, as this is a rather puzzling issue.
I have a Early 2008, MacBook Pro (pre-unibody MacBookPro4,1) in which the iSight camera is not functioning.
The camera last worked in OS X 10.7 Lion, but does not seem to want to work in 10.8 or 10.9.
The iSight shows up under system profile, and is recognized by all applications. The problem I am facing, is that it just displays black. No picture.
The light at the top of my MacBook Pro (green LED to show activity) works, which means the camera does have power.
I've tried the Apple trouble shooting methods I could find, such as resetting the PRAM and SMC, but neither of those seem to have done the trick.
I am currently running 10.9.1 (Mavericks). And while I would just downgrade to Lion, I have a few apps that I need for school which are only now supported on 10.9.
Any help or thoughts is welcome!
I would take it to Apple to see about a repair, but A) It's old. B) I don't have Apple Care. And C) They would probably just laugh at me.
