Apple has released minor update to MacBook Air with speed increase and price decrease.
On the processor front, the Air now comes with a 1.4GHz Core i5 -- upgraded from a 1.3GHz chip. The 11.6-inch MacBook Air dropped to a starting price of $899 from $999 in the US, while the entry-level 13.3-inch Air dropped to $999 from $1,099 in the US. The price in Australia is not as great as in USD. The entry level 11-inch MacBook Air remains the same AUD, while other models were cheaper by $50 to $100 AUD.

MacBook Air was previously released during WWDC 2013 (in June 2013) featuring up to 12 hours (13-inch) and 9 hours (11-inch) of battery life.

The new MacBook Air is available now. The specs and prices are:
The 11-inch MacBook Air (1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB memory): 128GB of flash storage starting at US$899 (or A$1,099 incl GST), 256GB of flash storage starting at US$1,099 (or A$1,299 incl GST).
The 13-inch MacBook Air (1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB memory): 128GB of flash storage starting at US$999 (or A$1,199 incl GST), 256GB of flash storage starting at US$1,199 (or A$1,399 incl GST).
Configure-to-order options include a 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz, up to 8GB of memory and up to 512GB flash storage.
