AFTER installing Communicator, install a standalone version of AIM. It will pickup from the windows registry the path under the Netscape directory and install there, overwriting the install that came with Netscape. Then UNinstall AIM from the control panel's add/remove programs.
Or alternatively, you can just manually delete the directory under the Netscape directory that contains the AIM program. However this won't take care of registry issues and such.
