Navigator 4.7 will not open or start

Recently, when I try to open 4.7, I get the opening Navigator lighthouse picture and version number. That's it. I get a slightly clicking sound from the iMac (9.0.4), but nothing else ever happens. I tried to uninstall Navigator (using the system discs) with hopes of reloading it from the system discs. However, when I use the discs, I get the "Navigator unexpectedly quit...please restart...and so on" message.

Is there a repair for this, or would downloading 4.8 be the best advice? If so, would I lose address books, etc?

I only use this for email, so it's not that important that I have the latest and greatest—just something reliable.

Solved the problem myself. I simply threw away the entire Navigator folder on the hard drive and dragged in the original off the disk. Didn't lose a thing--address book, bookmarks, etc. The old file must have just been hung up. Hope someone gets some use out of this info.
