Wow. You sure have a truck load of desktop icons, Greg. I buried mine in a dock but my wife prefers to have hers on her desktop like you. Nice looking wallpaper.

Desktop on my new iBook G4.

Runs Leopard. Though soon to be Tiger, because leopard doesn't seem to want to be real snappy with only 1GB of ram. It's a 12", 1.33Ghz btw.

Installed Windows 8 on my desktop a few weeks back. Really liking it thus far. It's been a nearly seamless transition from Windows 7. My workflow has been uninterrupted by the change.

Nice.
I've been getting a few old Macs recently. I've been trying to not to run the latest (supported) OS on them.
Firstly, I don't see the point on running the latest OS, and I have other more recent Macs to run latest Mac OS.
Secondly, I'd prefer smoother usage than new(er) fancy features.

Yea, Though I do run Lion on my 2007 black macbook I just got. Not sure if this machine is supported by Mountain Lion or not.

Why do I have a feeling that desktop wallpaper looks a bit Windows?

It reminds me of the clouds wallpaper from Windows 98, here it is:
