Function (Fn) key stuck - resolved

Postby LynK » Tue 03 Feb, 2009 6:50 pm

thank you THANK YOU not-so sillydog! This has been driving me BANANAS for days now! I have an ACER ZF3 and when my cat decided to take a shortcut across the keyboard :oops_sign: i thought i'd have to take the laptop in for repair. I depressed the Fn key and F11 (which is the NumLk key) together and it WORKED.
Thanks again,
L

i have a gateway solo 955o with a stuck fn key, but it has no num lock key.

5 have a gateway s636 955/ w5th a st4c2 fn 2ey, b4t 5t has n6 n40 36c2 2ey. Get 5t, 363+ *retty 3eet h4h+

Edit: Found the answer in the gateway 9550 user manual. The key sequence to turn the Numeric Keypad off is Fn+Pad Lock.

here is how to fix it FN key problem

Postby v » Thu 31 Dec, 2009 10:33 pm

Awnser here !!!

for almost all laptops youll think the fn key u need to leave it press but some times all u need to do is push the num lk key again to activate or desactivate the numpad

this will work trust me , the fn key is just a shortcut , to the fn keys XD

I am so thrilled that I found the answer to my problem so quickly!!! A co-worker had it stuck and sent his laptop to me to figure out what was wrong. I am buried, so I am so thankful that I found this site and the correct answer!!

I have an Acer Aspire 4920 and found holding down Fn key at same time as F11 (NmLk) did the trick for me; based on a message on here. Really pleased! What madeunction Key Locked into Google with the function key locked (obviously) and it brought me to your site. Thanks a million guys.
