Cordless Mouse Doesn't Work in Safe Mode

Postby Hatewa » Thu 07 Nov, 2002 10:58 am

Version: Windows 98
P Speed: 399 MHz
Processor: Celeron
OEM: Gateway, Astro 800, desktop
Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse

When the PC is in safe mode, the cordless mouse is inneffective. The pointer moves only vertically and eventually exits the screen. It works fine otherwise.

I can't give you a good solution, however if you use Logitech mouse/keyboard as normal (standard) mouse/keyboard, that is without special Logitech MouseWare and any iTouch software installed.

If you really need to work on the safe mode, then try the .ini file from the Logitech MouseWare CD, for more detail, please read the Readme file in Logitech CD.

Just for my curiosity, which Logitech mouse/keyboard do you have?

I mean which model (the name, not series number) of Logitech mouse you've got?
such as "Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical".

Cordless Mouse Doesn't Work in Safe Mode

Postby Hatewa » Sat 09 Nov, 2002 12:13 pm

The dual system is called "Access Duo". The mouse is simply called "cordless mouse".

Also, the last few days, uoon startup, I've been getting an invalid pafe fault module itouch exe at 018f:00311f 92.
See nothing about it in "read me", or at the Logitech support site. Any suggestions?

all right.
Firstly, I assume you don't need to keep using Safe Mode... start from Normal Mode.
Then try to download the latest version of drivers from Logitech website.
then, remove your current Logitech mouseware software.
(probably you need to restart)
install the new Logitech mouseware you've downloaded.

Cordless Mouse Doesn't Work in Safe Mode

Postby Hatewa » Sun 10 Nov, 2002 3:43 am

I just downloaded the latest version of Mouseware, (9.41.1). It works fine and I'm not getting the Invalid Page Fault any more. I don't regularly use Safe Mode—just happened to stumble on it one morning, then tried it again a few more times to see if the mouse worked. One of these days, I'll be tempted to try Safe Mode again just to see if it works, but for insurance, I'm keeping a spare mouse plugged in. I don't enjoy manuevering with the keys, because it feels like my toes are doing it.
