Sitemeter's New Format: What do you think of it?

Postby FrankoSport » Sun 14 Sep, 2008 7:43 am

Greetings (very somber at the moment) .......

Anyone using the Sitemeter counter-tracker service is undoubtedly aware that the service has been planning to "migrate" to a new server, and to introduce a new way of viewing reports.

I have a feeling that like me, a lot of Sitemeter users may not have been fully prepared for what the "new way" was going to be. I have spent the past hour navigating thru the new layout, and right now, I feel very disappointed with it. The ease and quickness of the previous format is gone, and I see that the navigation method they employ is no where near as friendly and efficient as before.

Most of all, I can not view certain stats reports the same way as before, and this is very frustrating.

I have e-mailed Sitemeter to ask if they have by chance a "back-up" location where you could still do things the old way. They probably have no such location planned, I fear.

For now, I'll stick with Sitemeter for about another week to see if things improve. If not, I'll be looking for another service.

Feel free to share your own thoughts on the Sitemeter changes.

Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Sport

i've used and enjoyed the popular tracking website for years, but i am really not liking the changes that have taken place at sitemeter, recently. it is so much more difficult and time consuming to find the information i'm interested in. furthermore, the way certain statistics are displayed to the user seem over-the-top and unnecessary. i, too, hope they include some sort of "back up" location.

Sitemeter does an "About Face"

Postby FrankoSport » Sun 14 Sep, 2008 6:19 pm

Greetings (Much Happier Now) --

Sitemeter has realized the error of their ways. Their changes were apparently unpopular with a lot of their subscribers, as they explain in their official blog post.

The "old' Sitemeter will officially be back soon. But I do not have to wait, as an old back-up link is once again working. Hallelujah! :whew:
