Explorer.exe Dll

Postby DiscoFever » Sun 29 Aug, 2010 3:56 pm

I accidentally deleted the Explore.exe Dll off my daughters computer. How in the world can i replace it? The error message say reinstalling will help the problem. The only thing is that i can't get into Safe Mode, or the system. Once the computer logs on, the desktop appears, but no Task Bar. The computer has Windows XP SP 3. any help is greatly appreciated. I've read about booting off the CD but really have no idea what to do.

Thank's

As far as I know, reinstalling Windows is the only way to fix this issue.

As for backing up data, boot into an Ubuntu Linux Live-CD and copy all her stuff onto an external hard drive.

My dear John, by what stretch of the imagination do you believe that just any one can or would have any Linux tools? Am I missing something?

Richard-

Using the Ubuntu Live CD is really easy. You burn the CD, put it in your drive, and boot. Then the live environment will come up and you can get to your hard drive.

It's better than loosing all your data.
