IE9 has 3.6% Windows web share

Postby Antony » Sat 02 Apr, 2011 9:31 am

New data from [url=http://www.netmarketshare.com/browser-market-share.aspx?qprid=2&qpcustomb=3211&sample=54]NetApplications{/url] for March showed that IE9 gets 3.56 percent of Windows 7/Vista users market share. Not much, but more than Firefox 4's 2.8 percent.

Internet Explorer as a hole has dropped to 55.92 percent, while Firefox was flat at 21.8 percent. Both Google Chrome and Apple Safari made significant increase to new height of 11.57 and 6.61 percent each.

OS wise, Windows as a platform has a market of 89.58 while the Mac has 5.25 percent, and surprisingly, the iOS (iPod touch, iPhone, iPad) has 1.87 percent.

Antony-

I am finally running both IE9 and FF4. I mean, I installed IE9. For me it is toast because it does not save email addresses typed once in my ISP's web mail. This is a very olde issue for me which I have related here over and over, so nothing to discuss. I installed it for security and Windows stability.

FF4 finally got some use once we got Colorful Tabs and Roboform got ver 7 out. I am still on a bum theme on several machines. Mosaic Fox is not supposed to work - yet - on FF4. But on some machines it is working just fine.

My real problem is whether or not Sailfish is going to to Simple Green for FF4. That is what I was using when my wife started her digital life. If she needs to change themes, I fear for my life. I emailed him, has has not responded. This is a bad indicator as he normally has in the past responded quickly.

I have been living without a number of addons and themes(appearance in 4.0), but I could not resist try to see if I could make my end-around, using Nightly Tester Tools. Well, I am using Simple Green, and nothing has blown up. So there!

So, my friend, tell me, how would I get Simple Green?

Simple Green is "old", Richard. (well... I'm pulling your leg a bit but it is a bit long in the tooth)

Try the new Shine Bright Skin. It's gorgeous.

Thanks James, a touch too dark for me. Until Mosaic Fox is up, I am using Little Fox for myself. What to find for my wife, I don't know, she will need to do some looking herself.

I gave up trying to influence my wife. She knows what she likes and that's pretty much a closed book. As for browsers, mail programs (you name it), she and I differ radically. Good luck.

I shall be happy I guess ;-) I am still able to 'influence' Laurent.

After all, I chose the iMac model, install the applications on his iMac. Of course, I 'safe keep' his passwords.
