Further, upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium would cost US$120. Which is only $9 less than the alleged $129 yearly OS X charge by Apple bashers. (Here in SillyDog701, we have examples.) For the facts: Apple did not roll out a new major Mac OS X version each year, and the latest Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard costs only $29.

True. But listen to what Paul Thurrott and Leo Laporte have to say on Windows Weekly (TWIT) in this podcast regarding the new Snow Leopard and the so-called "deal" from Apple. It's just another perspective but an interesting one.

It's found here: http://twit.tv/ww

If I listen correctly on that podcast (sorry, I jumped a bit), they were praising the usage us GPU on Windows 7, however calling Snow Leopard should only be a 'Service Pack'?
Why don't they insist on Microsoft to make Windows 7 a 'Service Pack' to all?

It's all about money, Antony. :(

Have you read that Windows 7 is already surpassing Vista? Read this:

Forgot to mention in my previous post.

Snow Leopard has many many enhancements underneath, making the operating system more efficient. Improved usage of GPU on graphic task is one of those. Yet, to Thurrott, the similar enhancement in Microsoft Windows (and only in Microsoft Windows) receives heavily praising.

Thanks for the article, the market share of the Windows Vista has just received a very small drop. Personally, I wouldn't make any article on tiny fluctuations yet.

Good, I'll be glad to see Vista go, to be honest. Windows 7 is far superior, from a Windows point of view. Snow Leopard is excellent too, but Mac OS is in a league of it's own, and is excellent in that league :)

Since the Windows 7 has been officially launched, I think it's time to close this thread.

Please feel free to use other Windows 7 threads or start a new one for any Windows 7 related topics.
