turning off UAC

How do I turn off that infernally hateful UAC in Windows Vista? Thanks.

I don't have Vista available, but I think that the setting is somewhere in one of the 'security' options in Control Panel. Check the 'Help and Support' materials also.

Well... I was hoping for something deeper within the settings. If you take that route, an annoying icon appears in the task bar along with a pop-up warning. You can turn the pop-up off but not the icon. It's really quite bothersome. Anyway, thanks.

Move into the security centre, and turn off all notifications. Then start -> services.msc and disable the security centre service. Reboot and it'll be gone for good.
