XP SP1: d/l or CD?

Postby Josh » Mon 02 Sep, 2002 3:58 am

When XP SP1 is released, should I download it or get a CD?

Well me personally, I am just going to download it. Start it some night before I go to bed and let it knock itself out downloading. Thought I have absolutely no idea how large of a download it is. Kind of hoping it is less than 50-60Meg since I am on a 28.8K connection, but with my luck it'll be around 120Meg :x

Ask a friend to download it for you

Just ask a friend who's got broadband to download it and burn into CD for sharing.
OR wait for next month's computer magazine's cover CD.

DON'T WASTE your money for Microsoft.

Download it.

As for being on 28.8k, I can most certainly sympathise, since I'm also on 28.8k...

Hendikins,
You don't need to download it.

I mightn't have to download /that/, but OpenOffice 1.0.1 + Netscape 7.0 is a similar size. I'm talking about the amount of data, not what the data is :)

You should ask your friends to help you download that.

Last time, I downloaded Solaris 8 (for x86) (2.5CDs) in about 80mins.
