When I was doing my undergraduate (last century I shall add), apart from using slow computers, there was no Wikipedia, no Google either. Internet was just getting popular, and not everybody had the access to it. There were search engines, but not the popular Google. Back then, I carry heavy textbooks, and used the library and dug out heavy books, unlike today's lucky teens, getting all the information in just a few finger strokes. Oh, I did not own any mobile phones back then.
Wikipedia announced the black out the English-language Wikipedia for 24 hours.
