From another thread, I began to think about the idea of a start page (what I used to mistakenly call a home page). When "you" go online, what is the first stop... the first page that opens? Is it a blank page from which you head out to various different places each time? Is it a portal like Yahoo, MSN, AOL?

I go to Yahoo and in particular to My Yahoo... a customized, personalized version of Yahoo giving me my weather and the weather for several cities in which my children live. I've also set it up to deliver the news I want to see (tech news, world and national news), the bookmarks I have made which now reside on My Yahoo, a currency converter and a Calendar in which I've added all the important events and special days for the upcoming year.

In Firefox (yes, still 3.6.xx), the start page is http://sillydog.org/
In Safari, the start page is http://www.apple.com/startpage/ (well, this is a portal)
