Actually, the AOL CDs come in handy for a lot of stuff. I use them on my dial-up machine to occasionally update programs like Winamp, etc. that I use, instead of having to download all of the files. Then the CDs become coasters, and the cases go into my collection of cases to use with my 100-pack spindle of CD-Rs.

I'll put it this way: If AOL CD's were CD-RW's (by some extremely off chance that will NEVER happen), I would be able to create Video Professor VCDs and hand them out for free at my school, as people always ask me to fix their computers there.

I remember having a Netscape 4.0Gold CD that came with one of my laptops. Even at that time that machine shipped with two AOL CDs in it. Then there was the case where I got my new notebook a year ago... A few MSN CDs, a few AOL CDs, and nothing with the word "Netscape" on it at all.
