Hi,
The facuilty version works great except every so often you have to change the proxy back to direct connection to the intenet.

Are you saying that the Faculty browser version somehow spontaneously reverts back to the original "autoproxy" setting after you have set it to "direct connection"? If so, that is a bit strange.

If you wish to use a Student or Faculty Version, I would recommend that you delete the "automatic proxy configuration URL" line, then select "direct connection to the internet", and then click on "OK." See how that works for a while.

In any case, if true, this would be a reason to use the Faculty and Student Versions only at Cedarville University unless you are content to change this proxy setting every so often.

I am saying that is reverts back to the original proxy setting.
I am willing to put up with is though I just thought that you needed to know that.

Thank you all for such kind help on checking out my Public Version! Please consider the Public Version at the link already given to be the Final Release of profman's "slim" Public Version. No changes were made.

I will make an announcement about this in the Netscape Forum shortly. I have already announced the availability of all of my versions to a select group of faculty and students at Cedarville University and to a few close friends.

Thanks again (especially to Antony for making this possible)!

The location of the final release will probably remain the same as above (or similar) unless I decide to change some things.

Thanks again!

Two objections: 1.the Shop button does not want to go away. I had a similar problem with DJGM's build, but after clicking on and off on the Navigator preferences. 2. Everything was checked off on the Advanced, Netscape open etc. However, I did not check to see if something strange happened before setting up the preferences. I would never accuse the download of "speed". I took a coffee break. Maybe 15-16 Kbs with cable.
And, the Profile King decided to take a break. He found an inactive profile, formerly used by Mozilla 1.2.1. You did a good job!
Now five builds, and five profiles.
There is an advantage there. If something goes wrong with one profile, so what?

Fulvio,
try this:
select all options in your preference, back to Navigator, exit Netscape.
re-start Netscape.
unselect all options in your preference.
See if it works.

Fulvio: I do not believe that those observations are unique to my build, although I can not be sure of that. I know that each new installation of Netscape wants to check most of those files under Advanced|System, and I have to go in each time to set them back to what I desire.

The buttons can be forced to obey if you fool with them enough. Many of my buttons showed up as checked even though they were NOT displayed. (It acted like the old button settings from the last version and the check-boxes for the current version did not agree.) I more or less followed Antony's advice and eventually got the check-boxes to match reality.

Perhaps these are problems only with CCK builds, although I would expect not.

In any case, thanks for your input!
