Yes, for mail i use Outlook. For RSS feeds I use Google Reader.

The problem with Google reader is that unlike the news readers in TB and SM, I cannot set up filters to filter out some of the nastier posters and trolls as well as threads in which I lack interest. I'll have to take another look at Windows Live which allows it.
