trying to recover my inbox/address book from Netscape 7.1

Postby timmyotoole » Sun 05 Oct, 2003 4:07 am

I recently had to reformat my hard drive. I backed up all the files in my Netscape directory but not the ones in my documents and settings directory. I copied my mail folder into Netscape 6.23 and was able to see my inbox up through October of last year. Does anyone know if there's a way I can recover my address book and the rest of my inbox without having the documents and settings directory. (I wish I had checked out this board before I formatted.)

Sorry to say this, they are gone, unless you specified to have your Mail stored somewhere else.

Please see

Thanks. That's what I thought. I guess last time I backed up I was still using an earlier version where everything was stored in the Nescape folders.

In the future, it is a good idea to change the location of the profiles. There is a lot about profiles in Ramona'Netscape Solutions, substiture C:/Documents..
