Such small monitors you guys use! My main PC has a 19" monitor that is shared with my Sun workstation, and my Windows 95 computer has a 17", both are CRT monitors. The 19" can do 2048x1536, and the 17" can do 1600x1200. Although the 19" is only set to 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 and the 17" is at 1152x864.

Wish I could afford a large monitor! An LCD one.

Large CRT monitors are fairly inexpensive now, but those LCD monitors cost quite a bit.

Even here, LCD's are still expensive, I have yet to see one selling for under $250 (USD).

I have two Samtron (Samsung Mexico) 77V monitors (CRT), that I bought new for $99 (USD) each at Sam's Club (part of Wal Mart), they are almost flat-screen, and are far better than the 15" and 17" monitors that these replaced. I'm very pleased with them.
