Favorite Web Browser

I wouldn't be surprised if we've had polls and topics similar in theme to this one, but not a poll that asked this precise question.

I admit that some of these choices are debatable and arbitrary in nature. Please weigh your decision towards the latest version of a given browser, unless otherwise specified. I separated Netscape 4.8 and below from Netscape 6.0 and up since the later Gecko-based versions were basically rewritten from the ground up. Also, I decided to separate out some of the common Gecko-based browsers, due to their frequency of use on these forums and the fact that they differ slightly in features and usability. I grouped Mozilla and Netscape together, since they are very similar in features and because otherwise I would have had too many poll options.
AOL 4.0 and up (except v.8.0 for Mac OS X), Compuserve 4.0-6.0, MSN Explorer, and various front ends like Avant Browser fall under Internet Explorer.
I'm sure there are many browsers I've missed, partially due to the limited number of options I could add (Am I the only one who remembers Chamelon WebSurfer?), but this should be fairly comprehensive. In any case, there is an "other" option.

Considering what the main focus of this web site and Message Centre is, it's probably safe to say within what choices most votes will lie, but I'd like to reassure myself anyway.

Personally, my favorite browser is the Mozilla suite. It offers good performance, security, excellent CSS support and rendering capability, is frequently updated, and has as many features as I want.

I haven't visited Peter's page for ages :)
I remember he mentioned Netscape Browser Archive :)

Also, in his Now! buttons page, he and I exchanged a bit.

I noticed that Netscape 2.0 version has an N when one clicks on Netscape Now! Buttons.

I never saw an "N" when using version 2.0 Just the "Lighthouse" which was and is still my favourite.

OK, who voted for Internet Explorer? (Reaches for shotgun)

Actually, if you do use Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla or Netscape (which this site is dedicated to), there's another poll and thread from last April just for you.

I like the Mozilla suite (1.6) the best - it has great standards supports, plenty of features and is very secure. Although I am liking Firefox more with each new release.

I just downloaded mozilla firefox 0.8 and I like it better than IE even though thats all that I ever used before, I didn't realize that firefox was so much like IE but still alot faster. I wish that I could change my vote because i voted for IE and now i wish that I voted for firefox.
