Mandrake: I noticed that you were using VMWare and I would like to know how much it is and if I can download it somewhere.

Another day, another desktop: Here's my latest screenshot from my computer, complemented with the clutter of extra icons.

I remember a long while back I had a 16-bit LAN card in one of my old 3.1 laptops (NOT 3.11), and I recently was able to hook that up to my network... If I recall correctly, you could get 3.1/DOS drivers for the card and then could get Winsock to log on to my other machine here using DHCP. Although I couldn't see the computer on the network, I could still access the Internet to some extent in Navigator 3.04.

Since Mac OS X is built on top of a UNIX codebase, it's possible to run certain UNIX apps
with the help of X11 for Mac OS X (included with Panther) Fink and FinkCommander . . .

Here's a screengrab of FinkCommander trying to install the text based web browser Lynx . . .

A 1024x768 PNG image of my desktop is available at http://dluchini30.tripod.com/Images/desktop.png (I did not put it into this post because MS Paint won't let me decrease the size of anything without it becoming blurry and washed out.

I am working on the fact that this redirects to a Tripod logo.

Coca Cola . . . horrible, syrupy, gassy, sugary stuff that it is . . . ugh!

Meanwhile . . . here's my latest Windows XP desktop . . .

The theme is based on one of last years "Longhorn" early milestone builds.
TBH, I don't like it much. Too much dark blue, and some menus don't show.
