Firefox 0.9.1 released

This technology preview of our award winning next generation browser is a sign of things to come from Mozilla. Powerful yet easy to use. This maintenance release provides a few updates based on user feedback - including changes to the Extension System and icon improvements.

It also fixes a security issue that wellander is not sure of the details yet.
Mozilla 1.7 is also affacted by it too.

Hi,
Why did it import Internet Explorer things?
That is what I am not happy about.
If I wanted Internet Explorer type things I would use it.

Cool, thanks for the news. I also noticed Firefox 0.9.1 has a new default theme again.

Again, this version is still NOT comply with Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG), as I mentioned in [sdt=6018]Firefox 0.9[/sdt], [sdt=5625]Mozilla 1.4.2[/sdt] threads. I think I really need to fire a bug in Bugzilla.

Be careful when you report the bug.
Alos Please try not to get Chris I started in a confusion mess like with the other threads.
It did make the message centre sort of messy.
And good luck getting anywere with bug reports.

Tuesday June 29th, 2004

Firefox, Thunderbird Minor Upgrades Released

Mozilla.org today released upgrades to both Firefox 0.9 (0.9.1) and Thunderbird 0.7 (0.7.1) to fix some minor bugs present in both releases. Both releases correct some flaws in the extension system that some users may have been experiencing, as well as a new icon set for the navigation toolbar on Windows and Linux in Firefox 0.9.1. All users of both products should get this upgrade. Builds are available for Firefox 0.9.1, and Thunderbird 0.7.1, as well as updated release notes Firefox0.9.1, Thunderbird for both.

While many of the subtle changes that have come to Firefox between version 0.9 and version 0.9.1 are "under the hood" and thus may not be noticeable at first glance, it is very easy to notice the changes that have come to the icons on the navigation toolbar. For example, the "back" and "forward" buttons are now distinct arrows instead of triangles, the "reload" arrows have been rotated 90 degrees, and the "home" house is now turned at an angle and has shed its chimney. Presumably, these changes address some of the dissatisfaction users had with the simplistic toolbar icons present in the default theme of the initial release of Mozilla Firefox 0.9.

Execellent update! Firefox 0.9.1 is now actually usuable for me! The extension manager works correctly and the stability is fine (no crashes so far). :)

Firefox 0.9.1 runs very fast and this is probably the best build yet so far. According to the roadmap, it looks like the final 1.0 will done in the Fall. That will be a while from now.
