Official Mozilla Store Relaunched . . .

Postby DJGM » Mon 14 Jun, 2004 9:12 pm

As the thread title suggests, the Official Mozilla Store has indeed been relaunched.

I've posted a full article at MozInfo701 . . . Here's a screengrab of the new look . . .

Oh, and MozillaZine also has a brief article about this . . .

My new avatar expresses the way I feel about the T.Rex monster. But, thanks for the info. The firefox is really classy.

Even though I already ordered a Mozilla CD Subscription when Mozilla 1.6 came out, I have
just ordered (a few minutes ago) the Mozilla 1.7 CD, with the official Mozilla Guidebook.

Having said that, I should've already received a Mozilla 1.7 CD by now, as
part of my aformentioned Mozilla CD Subscription. I've not got it yet . . . !

Strangely enough, when I ordered Netscape 6.1 on CD (when that was available) that arrived within two
working days of placing the order, which went through on a Tuesday, and arrived on Thursday moring.

Since AOL closed the Netscape CD store, if you haven't got your Netscape CD by now, I'd say
you ought to contact AOL with your order details (if you still have them) and demand a refund!

Hi,
Oh No.
That is not good.
Yes I would contact AOL and ask for a refund.

I pre-ordered a Mozilla 1.7 CD and Guidebook on June 18, 2004. It was scheduled to ship on June 23, 2004. Now it's July 5, 2004, and I still haven't received anything from Mozilla in the mail.

In two more days it will have been exactly two weeks since my order was (presumably) shipped. I'll try to contact the Mozilla Store and inquire on the status of my order if it doesn't arrive by then.

Maybe they're doing a re-issue to accomodate the fix for the shell: security bug . . .

Status update: Today I received this e-mail from the Mozilla Store.

The order you placed at 8:30 AM Friday, June 18, 2004 has been shipped.

Thank you for ordering from the Mozilla Store. If you have any
questions about your order, please feel free to contact us at:
-------@------------.---

Order: #12443

Shipped at 1:06 AM Thursday, July 15, 2004.

Shipped To:

Andrew Turnbull
[...]

Items Shipped:

Mozilla CD & 1.7 Guidebook - Mozilla CD & 1.7 Guidebook
$14.95 x 1 = $14.95

It looks like my Mozilla CD and Guidebook are finally headed towards my mailbox, albeit nearly four weeks after they were originally scheduled to. This makes me wonder: Was the delay due to Mozilla being behind schedule in manufacturing or shipping CDs, or was my order an anamoly? And considering the delay, would it be conceivable for the CD to contain Mozilla 1.7.1 and Firefox 0.9.2 rather than versions 1.7 and 0.9 as originally intended?

Gee, nearly a month delay.

Still better than my Netscape 7.02 CD I ordered last year.
