So far I'm eating my words! It's been over a week now and I find myself reaching for the Opera 8.0 icon over and over just because it's so good. The tabbed browsing seems a bit superior to Firefox's (other than no extension for "double-click to close") and the password management is WAY better. Opera can defeat sites like Yahoo, Hotmail, Myway.com and Iwon.com that instruct a browser not to save a password. Opera just makes it easier to browse them after clearing cookies. Also, "rewind" allows me to quickly back out a website or get back to a search result after clicking multiple pages and links with out hitting "back" a dozen times. I used that a lot researching the purchase of a new graphics card.

The biggest thing I miss from Firefox is Adblock!

I installed 8.0 on my Linux systems this morning and find it faster than Mozilla.

I deleted all old Opera files under Linux (except the contacts and bookmarks - made copies of those) and did clean (new) installations.
