Postby Antony » Tue 31 May, 2005 4:28 am

Snapz Pro X - SillyDog701's official screen and movie capture software, is now compatible with Mac OS X Tiger.

Changes/enhancements
Snapz Pro X 2.0.2 features the following changes/enhancements:

-- Fixed a bug that could cause Snapz Pro X to not include the audio and/or microphone track in recordings unless you clicked on the "Settings..." button for the compressor after rebooting
-- Addressed a bug in AmbrosiaAudioSupport that could on certain machines in very specific conditions cause the audio in a movie to stutter or get out of synch after 10+ minutes of recording
-- Fixed a but that caused the window borders on Tiger to be slightly off visually
-- Snapz Pro X now uses hardware acceleration for many aspects of operation, which will make it faster on many machines
-- Included an Uninstaller for Snapz Pro X
-- Added a Traditional Chinese localization to Snapz Pro X
-- Fixed a number of other bugs and issues

So you should know how I produce beautiful screenshots in Mac OS X :-)
Taking screenshots in Tiger will now be even easier.

Known Issues for 2.0.2

* There seems to be a bug in Apple's H.264 codec that ships with QuickTime 7.0 -- do not use this codec when saving a movie in Snapz Pro X... the codec will crash, which will cause Snapz Pro X to crash as well

* Snapz Pro X does not invoke properly inside of Keynote when it is displaying a presentation or within iPhoto when it is displaying a slide show. Essentially, these programs take over the screen, and assume full ownership of it

* On some people's machines, when Snapz Pro X is first run, it appears to wipe out their startup items. It does this when it adds Snapz Pro X to the startup items list. Why/when this happens is a mystery

* Sending via email doesn't appear to work under Entourage under MacOS X 10.3 -- but it does work under 10.2. Confusing.

* On MacOS X 10.2.8, if the Snapz Pro X "hot key" is set to the default of Command-Shift-3, it will seem to not work, and the Apple screen capture will activate instead. The solution is to either run Disk Utility to repair permissions on your startup drive, or set Snapz Pro X's hot key to something other than Command-Shift-3. To do this, invoke Snapz Pro X by double-clicking on its icon, switch to the Preferences tab, and change the key and modifiers as you like. The Disk Utility/Repair permissions method is the recommended fix, but either will work.

* A corrupted thumbnail is made if you 1.) save a shot without a thumbnail 2.) replace that file with a new one saved with a thumbnail.
So I can't use it to create H.264 movies directly?
I will wait for QuickTime 7.01 :-)
