I am surprised that no one here has already announced the availability of the long-awaited release of Mozilla 1.7.11. (Its been out on the FTP site for some time now.)

Downloads now await at mozilla releases.

No announcement yet appears at mozilla.org, but I will check elsewhere. I am sorry not to have detailed info on this release, but other threads here at SillyDog have discussed the changes. See, for example, Mozilla 1.7.11 will fix two Mail & Newsgroups Regression.

I trust others will supply for my lack of info on this quick (and very late) post.

Same Version as released on 7/31?

Version 1.7.11 has been on the FTP site since 7/31, but not on the Mozilla Releases site. Is the announced version the same as that released on 7/31?

The Windows build is the same. The Linux version had a bug in the talkback app, that's why they didn't put v1.7.11 on Mozilla website at that time. So you don't have to download it again unless you're running Linux.
