caminobrowser.org released Camino 1.0 Beta 1. This version contains several important security fixes as well as various other fixes.

Camino 1.0 Beta 1 shares the same code base with Firefox 1.5 (it's based on the Mozilla 1.8 CVS branch), so shares many of the security fixes and Gecko improvements that are in that version of Firefox.

Due to changes in the feature set, Camino no longer supports Mac OS X 10.1. We advise people still using OS X 10.1 to stay with Camino 0.8.4.

Seems to me, Camino 1.0 Beta 1 has improved a lot since Camino 0.8.4.
Camino 1.0 Beta 1 works a lot better than [sdt=9856]Firefox 1.0.7[/sdt] and [sdt=10152]Firefox 1.5 RC 1[/sdt].

As for comparison with Safari? I need some time.

This is probably the first time that the Camino devs actually recommend people to use a beta version of their browser. Since I've used a Camino nightly a few weeks ago, I don't really see any big differences, but time will tell...
