Great artwork.

Keep us appraised of the beta release. I'd be very interested in trying it.

I will, probably, never get used to the new design. I got to love that ridiculous present "artwork".

According to the artwork page, the ending paragraph indicates the images are free to use for promotion of the project and of the application.

Would this imply that it could also be used as an avatar here on SD701?

Most people thinks that it looks like a bird right after the first sight, but it's the sea-monkey shrimp that the logo is resembling.

I never saw a seamonkey shrimp, or whatever it is supposed to be, so I must trust you. It looks like a pretty bird, and, I will keep it.
The larger display shown by DJGM does not look like a bird. Anyway, it is time to go to bed.

Just downloaded the nightly built of SeaMonkey.

I know you guys don't like my post, but here it goes,
The new SeaMonkey artwork failed to comply with our beloved Apple Human Interface Guidelines (Apple HIG).

The SeaMonkey icon does not need to be translucent or very reflective, but it should comply with Apple's Icon Perspective requirement.

Image
Without a doubt, the new SeaMonkey does not fit with other Aqua icons.

Also, what the need for a square box around the throbber?
Something wrong with the transparency handling I guess.

Antony, you should keep in mind that the build you have is still an alpha (beta?) release, they may Aqua-fy the icon eventually. The artwork and icon were designed as a flat image, so why bother changing it to make it look fancy with 3D effects and transparency if they don't intend to have it look like that?

The throbber looks like it could be some sort of transparency problem with the Mac OS X variation of the Classic theme. The version of Classic for Mac and the version of Classic for all other operating systems is different; I believe the Mac version has bindings to Aqua, as I can't run it on Windows or Linux. I'd bet that there is still some old code for the boxy "M" throbber or the boxy placeholder image that wasn't updated for the new round icon that doesn't need to be changed on the other builds but needs some work on OSX-classic.
