Firescape 0.1 Final available

Postby Pu7o » Mon 23 Jan, 2006 4:19 pm

OK, Firescape v0.1 Final :fs: is now available! (For info on what Firescape is, see the thread about Firescape v0.1 Beta and Release Candidate Versions)

The only change between RC1-Linux / RC3-Mac/Win and Final is that the memory leak has been fixed.

Of course, now for the download links:

A v0.1.1 with a Linux installer is planned before work on v0.2 will start.
The Windows installer was created using Inno Setup and the Mac OS X Installer was created using IzPack.

Also to note, the creation of a news system on the Firescape website.

The official firescape webpage is http://www.firescape.co.nr/

Enjoy! :)

Will it accept the themes currently accepted by FF 1.5? Thanks.

I had imported the "Qute" theme into Firescape at one point (I can show you a screenshot when I get home), and it worked fine. Of course, you can't skin some of the extensions; I can pretty much guarantee you that Calendar won't be skinned (except using the theme's native colors). Then there's the issue of theme "extra padding" which could wreck the appearence of Fasterfox, Tab X, or IETab sitting in the tab bar or toolbars. Overall though, I know I've managed to successfully import at least one theme, so there isn't any real reason why any others wouldn't work.

Although there are no news about Firescape itself, the Firescape website (http://www.firescape.co.nr) did have lots of changes. Among them, the main ones:

I'd appreciate if people registered at the forum (although I will still continue to post news about Firescape at SD701 Customized Build).

*Note: This is spelled "HardwareHacks 2000", NOT "HARDWARE HACKS" like some mentally uncapable people think.
