I recently bought a desktop to replace my laptop. I had a lot of passwords stored with Netscape on my old laptop and want to know where or how to transport them from the laptop to the desktop? Anyone help with this?

Were you using Netscape 4, 6/7, or 8 on your old laptop? The process is slightly different for each one.

I was using 8.1 on the laptop, as well as the desktop. Your help will be most appreciated. I did, however, figure out and complete swapping my bookmarks/favorites!

Netscape 8.1 stores its passwords in a file called [tt]signons.txt[/tt], which is located in your Netscape profile (if you copied your bookmarks/favorites successfully, you most likely know where this is). With Netscape closed, move [tt]signons.txt[/tt] and the file [tt]key3.db[/tt] if it exists from your laptop's Netscape profile to your desktop's Netscape profile, and all your passwords should successfully import into Netscape 8.1 the next time you start it up.
