Have you ever run out or come close to running out of screen space at 1680x1050 (or whatever resolution your current Cinema Display runs at)?j

The 20inch Cinema Display has resolution of 1680x1050, and I found it not really enough :-P

But I don't know if I really need another 20" display.

Thank you for everybody's help on making a decision. I ordered one yesterday. Now, it's the waiting. Since I did not get the default configuration, I have to wait.

Apple online quotes 2-4 business days, but the local retailer told me it's be about 2 weeks more likely.

Sorry to bring up this age-old thing, but...

You are rich.

To be serious, though, I am interested to know which one you got.

I ordered a cheap one. Are you guys happy now?

It's not that fast, and not that big, and I can't afford 2GM memory module (stick). If not mistaken, I believe it is slower's than Pu7o's Intel-based iMac and Don's laptop.

17in iMac with a bit upgrade on spec.

Antony is poor.

Why AU$1900?

That's the price of what I bought. And I'm not rich. It was US$1449, I think that's around AU$1900.

If it's Core 2-based, and not the 1.66GHz model, it's probably faster than Pu7o's iMac and my laptop.

Actually, I wouldn't mind exchanging my iMac with whichever one you got. Mine is standard 17-inch iMac Core Duo, with no upgrades (not even extra RAM. I still have the stock 512MB of RAM, 150GB of HD space).

The base model I ordered was cheaper than AU$1900 before upgrading. I only upgraded speed, RAM and HDD.

Yours is 64-bit, as we know all that.

You bought a Core 2 iMac. So is yours.

You still only have 512MB of RAM on your iMac? And you told me that your iMac was fast, how could 512MB of RAM fast?

You don't want my iMac I am sure, mine is not that fast (only 2.16 GHz).

You call 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo "not that fast"? How demanding.

You don't want my iMac I am sure, mine is not that fast (only 1.83GHz Core Duo).

512MB of RAM is enough. I'll get more once I can actually afford it. Unfortunately, unlike Antony, I am poor.
