Which Netscape Mail icon? It should be no different than the icon in the present NS8, and Firefox, i.e. System Mail. Or do you mean some other icon?

In the graphic above, the icon at the far right on the toolbar, an envelope with the small "N" in the lower left corner.

I also noticed the "N" in that icon is the old square "N" logo, not the new round logo...

I don't believe switching netscape.com to the Digg-like portal was a good idea, since they did that, I've stayed away from their site.

I liked the Netscape Netcenter portal better, it had everything.

If one goes to My Netscape, it provides a synopsis of what is occurring with My Netscape, but the only information that one can access right now, is the financial information, a link to that is provided.

Not quite. You can click on the lines below, like News, etc.
As for the comment made before on the envelope with the N, my eyesight is not so good, and I missed it. who knows what that mean? But, I would not put much credence on something which may not come out, in the final form, for one or even two months, as Jay G. said.

Well, it was not clear that personal information was meant. I see what you mean.

I have to agree with you, Edward regarding the ill-advised switching of the netscape.com to the Digg-like portal. The Netscape Netcenter portal was definitely better as far as I'm concerned and that was one of the hinted at changes that attracted my attention.

Hasn't My Netscape been this way since the Netscape.com changed to Digg-like blogging/commenting portal?

Over time, the My Netscape page really did not change, it was similar to the My Yahoo and My MyWay pages, in that the user's personalized selections were all on one page.

Looks like Netscape 9 will run on Linux and Mac as well. Not bad.

Thanks for the news JPhoenixDK,

Netscape 9 will also sport a new FTP browsing interface:

Hehe, me too. I pretty much gave up on Netscape but old habits die hard I guess. I just hope they will be able to differentiate Netscape from Firefox and Internet Explorer. The integration with Netscape.com is a good idea, even though I don't use it, it adds an interesting angle. Maybe if they integrated Xdrive into the browser it would be a killer app? :?

Anyway, Antony, will you post some screenshots so we can see what it looks like on a Mac when it is released?

Any thoughts as to whether Netscape 9 might have an e-mail client built-in (a la SeaMonkey and Netscape Communicator)?

I know that NS9 will be more orless a successor of NS8, i.e. browser only.
I will get excited when I get my hands on it, and if it works, unlike NS8.
