Let's take a look at the original price and the new price. It's a lot cheaper now.

When Apple first announced aluminium Cinema Displays in June 2004, the prices were:
20-inch Cinema Display: US$ 1299
23-inch Cinema HD Display: US$ 1999
30-inch Cinema HD Display: US$ 3299

Now,
20-inch Cinema Display: US$ 699
23-inch Cinema HD Display: US$ 999
30-inch Cinema HD Display: US$ 1999

In other words, over two years time, 20-inch Display is about 53% of the price when it first released; 23-inch model is about half of the original price; and for the price of 23-inch model 2 years ago, you can get a 30-inch Cinema HD Display.
