When they disappear, the image frame stays and a small broken icon is displayed in the upper left.
I tried clearing/ increasing the cache.
I have tried FF in safe mode.
I ran a new profile, no change.
One by one I shut down Online Armor Firewall, CA Anti-virus, Spybot and Phone Tray Incoming call notification. Still no change.

Hard to tell. The biggest resource hog in your system is the screen capture item. I don't have it, nor ever use it. Perhaps you should look into it.

Thanks for the reply,
The screen capture was only used to snap the task manager and is not running otherwise.

So, there is no Screen Capture item in the processes?

No. It was only running to take a jpeg of the task manager for this post.

Thanks
