Intergrated webcam not functioning in ubuntu

Postby iJohnE » Wed 07 Jan, 2009 8:56 pm

Hello.

Okay, so I installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my Dell Studio 1537 Laptop.
Simply because Windows stopped working.

I noticed that the web cam is not functioning.

I have tried all of the Camera utilities available through Ubuntu, to no avail.

No, I am not sure what to do.

Any help is welcome.

It could be that the model of web cam is not (yet?) supported in Linux, if the model is too new.
